The Showman Chef Series Showcases Dinner Specials By Weekly Guest Chefs
Amazing food knows no limits. While professionally trained chefs can craft culinary masterpieces that weave unique flavours, textures and diverse ingredients into edible works of art, there are many who are gifted with a natural passion and love for food.
Several weeks ago, The Showman Restaurant launched their Chef Series, and invited professional chefs and home cooks to showcase their love of amazing food and recipes on the Showman menu, for one night only. To date, there have been several familiar faces on the Chef Series line-up. And, we decided to ask them all the same three questions to learn a bit more about who they are and what motivates them.
Showman Chef Series Featured Dish:
BBQ Jackfruit Tacos
Jackfruit is not only tasty and used as a creative meat substitute but it is so good for you! Jackfruit is breadfruit’s big brother and is full of vitamins and minerals. It supplies vitamin A, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin, calcium, potassium, iron, sodium, zinc, folate, magnesium, and niacin, as well as many other micronutrients. Jackfruit is one of the few fruits high in B vitamins. Plus it’s loaded with antioxidants and helps protect from cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Q: What excites you most about cooking?
A: What excites me most about cooking is, as a creative, I get to explore and express my creativity through cooking without any limitations being imposed upon me in my kitchen. I can randomly create a dish without having to give it so much thought beforehand; I just listen to my palette and let my creativity guide me to the right herbs and spices.
Q: What is one tip that you would share with other home cooks?
A: Play music while cooking. It makes the process feel less like a chore or obligation and I think it gives the food extra flavor, too 🙂
Q: What is one ingredient that you think every kitchen should have?
A: This is hard, aw man, there are so many must haves for me, but if I had to choose one, I’d say salt – can’t have bland food, right.
More featured chefs will be announced soon, so be on the lookout on the Showman pages for who will be sharing their flavour packed dishes, next.
