Meet Vainete – Ready To Spice It Up In The Kitchen
“When I was younger, I liked to spice up my food. I always loved eating and flavor, even as a little kid, so I didn’t want the regular ramen, straight out of the pack. I would add a little of this and a little of that. Some days it would be a curry. Others, a little cheese. I always liked playing with flavors, so as I got older and picked up a few tips and tricks from the Food Network, I would experiment with even more complex dishes.
Cooking has always been a love of mine, so I was very happy for the opportunity to have Chef Romero bring us on to do our internships. I’ve learnt so many things in such a short period of time, and it has honestly been a really fun experience – one that has allowed me to become immersed in so much diversity. I really enjoy all different types of cuisine, but I’ve really connected with the flavors, spices and dishes of South East Asia.
I love to draw. I like to sketch different things here and there – different designs. And, I love adult coloring books. That love of art has also influenced the way I view food.
In 5 or 10 years, I see myself growing and expanding as a business woman. My goal is to understand the needs of people with allergies, food intolerances, and dietary restrictions and then creating food that they can truly enjoy.”
