The Showman Chef Series Showcases Dinner Specials By Weekly Guest Chefs
Amazing food knows no limits. While professionally trained chefs can craft culinary masterpieces that weave unique flavours, textures and diverse ingredients into edible works of art, there are many who are gifted with a natural passion and love for food.
Several weeks ago, The Showman Restaurant launched their Chef Series, and invited professional chefs and home cooks to showcase their love of amazing food and recipes on the Showman menu, for one night only. To date, there have been several familiar faces on the Chef Series line-up. And, we decided to ask them all the same three questions to learn a bit more about who they are and what motivates them.

Q: What excites you most about cooking?
A: What excites me most about cooking is being able to create food that has personality. I love seeing how delicious and attractive plant based food can be when I begin cooking.
I am always excited about the possibilities of a dish even using the simplest of food items.
Q: What is one tip that you would share with other home cooks?
A: One tip I’d give to other home cooks is to have more fun cooking. I don’t often have a recipe plan for my dish, I just cook how I feel. I season how I feel. I plate how I feel. Don’t be rigid in the kitchen; cooking shouldn’t be about perfection, it’s the way we share ourselves on plates. Make food about you not how it’s traditionally cooked. Put your uniqueness on the plate and do your best to make it delicious. Cooking shouldn’t be a chore, take the pressure off yourself and create opposed to cooking.
Q: What is one ingredient that you think every kitchen should have?
A: One ingredient every kitchen should have is fresh garlic. I love fresh herbs and seasonings but fresh garlic is like an essential ingredient in all of my dishes. I love garlic, it’s inexpensive, it can last a while in the fridge, it’s easily stored, it has great nutritional benefits and it makes everything so tasty. I love fresh garlic.
More featured chefs will be announced soon, so be on the lookout on the Showman pages for who will be sharing their flavour packed dishes, next.
