In a pot, heat enough oil for deep frying.
Place the batter in a bowl and season with desired amount of salt and pepper.
Add baking powder. Mix well until fully incorporated.
With a tablespoon, not too generously spoon the batter into the hot oil. The fritter should float to the top of the oil after cooking 5 seconds to the bottom of the fryer. Turn the fritter over in the oil, cooking for about 30 seconds on each side.
Remove from oil into a pan or plate lined with paper to absorb excess oil. Once a toothpick inserted in fritter comes out clean you know that it is done.
