In pot of boiling water, let pasta boil until al dente and set aside.
Once done, in the same pot with boiling water place the broccoli in colander over the boiling water. Allow to steam for 5-7 minutes or until the broccoli is fork tender.
Cook the bacon in a large pan and set aside on paper towels to drain.
Melt the butter in the pan over medium-high heat, add the shrimp and cook, about 2-3 minutes per side, and set aside.
Add the garlic to the pan and red pepper flakes and saute until fragrant, about a 30 seconds.
Deglaze the pan with the wine (optional), add the alfredo sauce, and half & half. Allow to cook for 5 minutes. Then add the parmesan cheese and the sauce thickens a bit, about 3-5 minutes, before seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
